Frequently Asked Questions

Why work with AdventureSmith versus other training organization?

AdventureSmith offers one of the most experienced teams of adventure education consultants and trainers in the Midwest.  In addition to being well versed in team and leadership theory, our staff are required to meet stringent standards before leading ropes challenge course programs.  Unlike other organizations that decide to extend their adventure resources to include corporations because they believe there is income to be made, or training organizations that offer ropes challenge courses because it is the "hot item", we have consciously chosen to focus our efforts on being an expert in ropes challenge course delivery.  In addition to holding advanced degrees in management and training, or staff has experience constructing challenge courses, managing adventure challenge programs, and frequently conducts outside training on ropes challenge course to other organizations.

Why Use Adventure Learning and Ropes Courses?
When applied properly, ropes courses and strategic games provide the opportunity to accelerate relationship building and provide a forum of support and focus not easily matched by other more traditional tools.

Are Challenge Course Safe?
Although we do our best to minimize the risk that participants are exposed to there are inherent risks to participating in ropes challenge course programming that cannot be removed.  As a result, some activities are not appropriate for certain participants or groups.  Our staff are highly experienced in the technical and educational aspects of ropes challenge courses and will work with you to clearly explain the risks.

What is the cost of participating in a Team Building program?
Our focus is on developing custom programs that meet the needs of each group.  As a result, pricing vary greatly depending on the need of the organization, size of group, location, type of program, and type of follow-up conducted.  Early on in the partnership, we will discuss pricing to help with the decision-making process.
